Collin Waggoner

PLATFORM STATEMENT
My name is Collin Waggoner and I am running for the position of Vice President. I am a second year student as well as the founder and current president of the Social and Inclusivity Committee at the University of Washington, a registered student organization which aims to bridge the gap between social divides at the University of Washington through recurring on campus events. As Vice President my top three goals would be to prioritize student mental health, create inclusive spaces for all students and to do so in an equitable manner. My main goal regarding mental health is to shift the focus from not only resources but also target the causes of declining student mental health. As per creating inclusive spaces, I would like to create more on campus events that are catered towards ALL students at the University of Washington. My goal here is to provide students the college experience they deserve without feeling they have to commit their time and effort to being involved in one niche. I also have a strong background in advocating for equitable resources which I will apply to make sure all students can attend events and entertainment regardless of their economic background.
