Elections Administration Committee

Kennedy Patterson

As the Director of Campus Partnerships, It’s my goal to increase mental health accessibility and sustainability within our student health services, while also improving campus safety measures.

My concerns grew out of personal experiences utilizing the counseling center, where I experienced the barriers and gaps within the limited services offered to students; and as a Black Woman on campus, I have also encountered discriminatory practices which have been sown into the fabric of this institution.

As the Director of Campus Partnerships, I will advance advocacy towards equitable resources by:

  • Advocating for the Continued diversification of hired counselors, so that student identities through race, culture, religion, gender identity/ expression, disability, etc. does not limit their access to quality mental health resources.
  • Increasing advocacy for greater retention rates of hired counselors, by working to provide counselors with adequate resources and support needed to best serve students.
  • Advancing the Student Safety Advisory Board’s efforts by embodying ALL student voices regarding campus safety and security concerns.
  • Working with UWPD to reimagine campus safety through the student body’s and BSUs concerns.
  • Partnering with the Director of Communications to release monthly updates regarding Hall Health, Husky Pride Fund and Campus Safety measures through the Daily.
